Autumn has finally arrived in my part of the world after a hotter than usual summer. I went for a walk along the river in town last weekend to fully appreciate the autumn colours.
The fields above the river show how dry the area is, even beside with the Peel River.
When it does flood, it floods as you can see by the eroded embankment.
This “causeway” used to be one of three bridges that connected the north side of and west side of town. It now creates a billabong effect in the river.
The large bank behind the river is the flood levy that stops the CBD from flooding.
This speaks for itself I think.
On the levy bank.
