After the rain.

Well it is nearly the end of another year and I must say 2014 has been a shocker for me so I will be pleased to see the last of it.

A new year is the symbol of  new starts so given the absolute horrid 11 and a half months that have just gone past I’m hoping to see the beauty after the storm that has been 2014 soon.

When the heat builds the night crawlers come out.

The view from my driveway Monday just past. The New England area of NSW has experienced record breaking temperatures over the past week, the 42 degrees yesterday was exhausting, and it isn’t officially summer for another two week or so. A change came through on Monday night that didn’t drop any rain on my patch of dirt but the light show was amazing.

More amazing, I actually caught a few on my Cannon. This is one of my very first night time lightning photos, I love my new camera.

Another late entry: Weekly photo challenge: Split second. Gone in a flash.

We don’t get much rain around my part of the world at the moment and storms are even rarer. Thankfully this didn’t set anything alight on the hills near me although this storm rolled past and tornadoes were recorded on the coast side of the mountains. Tornadoes are even rarer than lightning storms in Australia.

Weekly photo challenge – On top. Last one :-)

This is a picture I was lucky enough to capture on boxing day 2013. The sunset beauty on top matches that of the much needed showers of rain the cloud mass delivered as it swept past my rural town.

The post that can now happen. Nature puts on a show.

Nature's contrasts.

A shower of rain sweeps across the valley.  The colours almost make this look like a painting but it is a photo I promise.  Nature never ceases to amaze me in its beauty.

I have a wonderful new camera at last but when I duck out to quickly run around town for my kids I didn’t think to take it with me…then I see this. Thankfully I had my phone with me, quality isn’t as good but at least I captured it.

Nature at one of its truly beautiful moments.
